Beach Comber - Woody Peony

Advanced generation lutea hybrid. Very large semi-double to double old rose with cream outer petals. Petals highly ruffled, creating a full looking flower. Excellent outward carriage of flowers on strong stems. Up to three buds per stem creating a long bloom season. Fertile both ways easily. Plants to 4 feet. Cream sheath, green stigmas, red filaments. Short red flares less than 1/3 of petal length. Has broad large deep green leaves which are dissected and pointed. Woody stems have exhibited better than average hardiness and longevity. Plants are taller than wide and are excellent performers annually. This plant represents one of the finest advanced generation lutea hybrids we've grown to date. Fertile both ways. Extremely limited and in high demand.  Beach Comber has the largest flowers of all lutea hybrids, approx 7". This is field grown, 3 year old grafted plant. This is a fall 2025 shipped item.
